Jessica West is a librarian at an ancient library that is rumored to house a lost Egyptian manuscript. One day she finds a secret room and discovers 35 envelopes, each containing six letters. Her curiosity piqued, Jessica is on a mission to discover the secret of where the hidden manuscript resides. I HAVE HAD BOOKWORM BEFORE YEARS AGO, BUT NOW, IT COMES WITH EXTRA DOLLARS EVEN WHEN I HAVE BEEN UPPED THREE TIMES IN CHARGES BUT NEVER ABLE TO GET WHAT I USED TO GET AND YET YOU DO MORE AND MORE ADS WHICH ARE BORING AND YOU GET PAID FOR THOSE TOO. WHAT DO YOU EXPECT OF RECESSIONARY CONDITIONS ON PEOPLE TRYING TO LIVE ON SOCIAL SECURITY AND THEIR ONLY ENTERTAINMENT IS OFFERED WITH ANOTHER COST. THIS IS MOST PERPLEXING. WILL THE LITTLBOOK OF TREASURES BE GOING DOWN THE SAME ROAD? IF SO, I'LL START PUTTING MY MONEY IN GAMES I CAN PLAY OFF LINETHIS IS INDICATIVE OF ARIANNA HUFF, SINCE PC'S ARE GOING OBSOLETE, ANYHOW. I SPENT AN HOUR AND A HALF GETTING ON BOOKWORM TONIGHT, SO I GUESS YOU HAVE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. I HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO THAN WASTE MY TIME, WITH THOUGHTLESS ADVERTISING.
When I leave the game my points disappear; how do I stop this?
@qunclst The only versionthat keeps your score is Quest. Only click on Quest on menu page and answer yes to continue. Also, do you "exit game" before leaving site or moving to another game.

The game works just fine for me. The only problem I have is the length and number of commercials you force us to sit through. I decided a while back that I would not purchase any product from the companies advertising on your site and so far that is working. Sometimes the game will come up and go right past the ad and then I'll play.
I used to love to play The Book of Treasures, but I can't anymore because it won't load. The little wheel thingy just keeps going round and round. Can I fix this?
@siobhankerry Do you have a tool bar running from Google or Yahoo or some other site? Too many tool bars will use up too much of your memory. Those tool bars, some of them, constantly reload. I justgot a new mouse and everything is working faster than before. Consider the mouse. The other thing, have you cleaned up your registry and defraged your hard drive.
Another change to the look of the screen rather than fixing the problems identified by many. Eirelass, now it's your turn to tell all of us how much better things are. Your last post seems to confirm my thought that you are actually a schill for this site!
@procaninbarb How can you say such things. I know you are doing this for entertainment. You have a great gaming record on this site and I shall quote it again: Here I am again with this note that was posted before, in case you missed it: For someone who has soooo much trouble with these games and they do not work for you: How in heavens name did you acquire 109199 STARS, 14 BADGES and 169 GAMES played. Now all of the players know you have no honor. And you spell shill wrong. Get a dictionary.
@procaninbarb I have never been a shill for any one or anything in my life. I cannot help it if my retired IT manager husband is able to keep my old laptop in tip top shape. I had freezing here and there too, but IT husband fixed the problem through Adobe Flash. I speak my mind and always have. Was asked to leave the courtroom by the judge and prosecutor during jury selection due to my questioning their procedures. You have insulted me. One thing I wish this site had was instant save like Google does when writing something. This is my third or fourth time around. Never ever call me something I am not.
My son is a game designer and programmer and my daughter works for a university in the communications department after spending 20 years in the newspaper business as a designer and manager of Creative Services Department. She became the Mac Tech at the paper due to no one else there able or willing to do it. So I come from a long line of computer knowledgeable family. My son would inform you that it takes a long time to solve problems with a game site and a game. Longer than you can imagine for there is so much code to go through. All three of my family learned computers on their own: Self taught. And my daughter has won many awards for her graphics work and is teaching herself code for websites. I think I know of what I write. Do not call me or any one else on this game site or any other game site a schill.
My only impression of you is you are a person without honor.
@Eirelass @procaninbarb do you know the answer game locks up when trying to load has happen before but "games" sent me the fix but i forgot what it sais to do ....sorry to bother u
I like the play button on the game card. Used to play a lot. Too bad I can't get any of the games to load now. Could it be the ad blocking app from my antivirus program that's causing the problem?
@jlg21447 I know some people do not care for my posts, like above, but I just asked my husband and the ad blocking app could be doing this. Not all ad blockers are the same. A site (server) can have problems. Leave game and turn off computer. Go back and try again. If this does not work, it could be a tool bar you downloaded and need to get rid of due to them constantly updating. Tools bars such as Google and Yahoo or any other site out there.
There have been many complaints about the new game site, I hope the changes that have recently occurred have pleased those folks.

Is anyone else experiencing game freezing after a couple of minutes of play and constant disconnect from chat? To me, it seems this problem began after AOL placed ads on the right of the game screen. This seems ridiculous since my screen settings don't even allow you to see the full ad. Additionally, the scrolling ads are distracting and annoying.
@jjbk99 Gotta agree that flashing ads adds to problems for computer games, slows them up. In fact slows everything up even articles you read on the net.
@jjbk99 I do not have game freezing. Ads on side can be bad. I suggested below that you tape black construction paper over ads or a piece of card board.. I have a small screen due to laptop being 10 years old so I do not have that problem. Your computer may need some attention. I have PC Tools/Registry Mechanic on my laptop that helps to keep things in tip top shape. Plus I use Trend Micro Titanium as my virus checker. Many things are stopped by them and I do not have infections. Also, if you have tool bars like from Google, they keep updating all the time and can cause problems too. I learned all this from my husband who managed IT Department for an international company. That company uses Trend Micro for viruses. And my son is a game designer/programmer. Daughter is also involved with web-site design and advertising. I get lots of info from these three in my life. Hope this helps you out. You can read some of my other hints below.
I agree about not liking flashing ads and scrolling ads. Waste of time and money and their part.
Lots of complaints again. And here I am enjoying myself and all games load, scores are kept (at least games that do save scores) and I wonder how savvy many of the players are about their computers. Here I am one of those so called "oldies" that seems to know more than then the "newbies". But, of course the Tech World would consider my husband and son "hackers" for they taught themselves everything about computers and languages and were and are employed in the Tech World. Guess I learned a lot from them. I have a great anti-virus running, and allow updates of all programs by not turning off my computer but hibernating it. Up dates happen at night. Maybe I should have a computer user blog going.
Plus my laptop is 10 years old. Take better care of your computer is my advise or find someone to teach you.
Besides the annoying commercials before you can get to the game, AOL is now running ads with annimation on the right side of the screen while you play the game. Absolutely distracting and annoying. I've found a new game site which so far appears to have no commercials. Goodbye games.com on AOL.
I don't expect AOL to change because NOBODY EVERY READS THE COMMENTS/COMPLAINTS which your customers write here.

I pay a monthly fee to AOL and I still have to be bombarded by commercials on this site. Enough already.
I used to be able to get points with some games but now that isn't happening. I play Solitaire: Flip 3 a lot and play against myself. Try to beat previous scores, but no scores are shown anymore. I already reported it but nothing happened. I asked all those in the chat room to report it too.
