Plan ahead as many moves as possible and work on tall stacks and long rows first. Focusing on these areas first will improve your ability to complete a level without requiring a "shuffle" and will reduce the chance a level becomes unsolvable.
If all four of any given tile are free, remove both pairs back-to-back to unclutter the layout and to receive 500 bonus points!
When removing a pair of tiles, remove tiles that "free" up the most tiles or help you get to specific tiles required for other key matches.
Beware of triples (3 free tiles that match); choose which two matching tiles you remove carefully and leave the one that is blocking fewer strategic tiles.
Season and Flower tiles are different than other tiles: Any Flower can be matched with any other Flower, and the same is true for the Season tiles. In a traditional classic layout (144 tiles) there is only one of each Season and Flower tile.
