Word Battle is an exciting and addictive, real time, multiplayer word game. You can choose your opponents either from friend and family cycle, or wide Games.com user audience. Gameplay: each user is given the same 9 random letters where each letter has some value assigned. In 40 seconds you need to come up with a word, which gives you as much points as possible. It is up to you what strategy you choose to win a battle. The one with the highest word score wins. Word building is really fun! Moreover, the ability to compete with others makes it even more gripping.

Is anyone else having trouble with the game locking up on them?  I have been freezing up and having to go out and back in to the game.  This is happening every evening for the last week or so.

They should take away the "feature" where you can see your opponents' words (cheating!)

An addicting game, though some common words are not accepted. I wish there was some more time between games to interact/chat.

Do they really expect us to BUY chips/coins???

Hate these Word Battle tournament games when players just bombard you with letters - they inevitably win because they are ready to place the letters if possible.  just confuses the game and the other competitors. I know its just tactics - if it works for them  good luck - doesnt work for me = don't need the stress

word battle is a great game. what with the coins and chips?

I mean I won't buy coins or tokens. I just use what they give me or earned, whichever they call it. Also they need better educated people confirming words because a lot

of the words are counted wrong when they are words, and some are allowed that aren't words. Sometimes it appears letters are deliberately withheld also.

I don't really understand why some words are not accepted in this game such as names of countries, days, and months.

where are the players that don't add extra letters and time?  And play a decent game with decent spelling.  Not yous and princesse?

Love the game .Getting quite addicted. Find myself being drawn to my lappy all the time, just to play this game.  I do get frustrated when the tiles wont settle and I end up with X  cos time runs out, but I must admit it makes me try even harder for the remainder, and have succeeded regardless!

Getting really frustrated with the dictionary - so many valid words not included.

@CrazyBea13 Chips are used to play in tournaments.  Coins are for getting extra letters, validating words, etc.

@EdD5  dont be,theres a time frame to come up with a word rather than to get zero is for you to guess anything but if the last three words you come up with are words like 'kamik',seame',and inutile with your word miasmas with out changing opponent and you come up with these kind of words every time dont be surprised if they do suspect you or what can they do if  you are a genius .ii myself be thankful on the other hand by letting me know that kind of word exist for my advantage by using it the next time i will play the game.

@Karim16  proper nouns (which is what you named) are not allowed but....there are so many correct words that are marked incorrect and so many words that are improper that are allowed. Do not write anything....book or letter....using these words!

detpopi
detpopi

@Karim16  Ordinarily, word games d not accept proper nouns......but this game's dictionary is questionable on lots of words and the forms of the words.  Ever notive that they accept so many adjectives of different degrees you never heard of before.  And I love when you play someone who is using lots of chemical or science related words that they have no definition for. That's when you know they are cheating and using an ap.  Report them by clicking on their icon and reporting.

nimrod_garcia
nimrod_garcia

@Karim16  well, i can only describe you and the same time the meaning of the word stupid.

@nimrod_garcia  It is incorrect because it is a possessive case Wife's but they use it along with other crazy usages

@EdD5 Simple Simon met a pieman going to a fair - simply a pie seller/s probably used more in Commonwealth countries.

@Jpharr396 Word Battle has been down for quite awhile now.  I haven't been able to load the game since this morning and from what I hear from others, they are having the same problem.  It must be something within the game and I'm sure they are working to resolve the problem.  Try to hang in there........

@NANKETNER  watch your coins on the top left...they are awarded every night...depending on your playing often or not......I  never bought coins and I have been playing for a while

@rednaxelaennyl  I agree, but also lots of strange words accepted.   No one professes to know all words but come on "Games Controllers" whoever you are have some guidelines on which dictionaries are used. One day a word is acceptable - the next its  disallowed.    A player used the word binmen which was allowed - I argued it wasn't in a dictionary she argued it was a refuse collector - I agreed I knew the meaning of it I disagreed with the use of it  - she was in England and said it was an everyday word -  to me that doesn't mean it is in any dictionary.  Then one player used shoeman which was disallowed - it means a cobbler - why is one allowed and one not.

@tony279 @EdD5

What commonwealth countries tony?

A pieman was a man who sold pies at fairs or markets, and of course immortalised in the nursery rhyme, it is as simple as that.. x.. Never heard of a soapies though..lol..

annd
annd

@tony279 @EdD5  glad you know your nursery rhymes!!!  Lots don't - especially the ones that  disallow some of the words as non existant = probably they don't know how to use a dictionary

detpopi
detpopi

@annd @rednaxelaennyl  How about "toughen"...I used this word and they disallowed it....it is a verb in all of the dictionaries.  I have seen many words of proper spelling and usage and the disallow.  Yet they allow forms of a word .....usually degrees of a word, comparative, superlative....ie: good better best......not those words but words that go into the extreme and they allow it.  Not is usage or dictionary.

@nanna14 @rednaxelaennyl

Binman...Binmen... a word..informal, but a word, because it has become such a common term that it is now in a dictionary. I cannot give answer to why Shoeman isn't allowed, we don't call cobblers 'Shoemen' here..in Britain - as far as I am aware anyway. But if Shoeman is a common word for a cobbler then it should be in a dictionary as that somewhere.  Are you sure people call cobblers 'shoemen' in general? Binman IS part of the British English language and has been for a long time now.

@Cottonswan @annd@rednaxelaennylI agree with you.  Some of the moderators here seem to need better educations or at least dictionaries.  They would probably do better as migrant lettuce pickers.

@lizzyhowardk @Cottonswan @annd @rednaxelaennyl  Hi Lizzy - yes there are lots of words we can use in this game that we have never heard of - lots of them I can't even fit into a sentence - but obviously we are English and don't know a lot of the US everyday words that they are familiar with and use in sentences  (if you get what I mean).    I just love the game and have to accept what words they approve and give scores on - doesn't mean though that we don't get frustrated and baffled does it.    I suppose tho in the US the different States have their own slang and sayings like in UK the North and South of England and of course Scotland & Wales all have all have their own slang words some of us have never heard of.   Thanks for your comments.  Good gaming!!

lizzyhowardk

@Cottonswan @annd @rednaxelaennyl .... I've never heard a cobbler being called a shoeman that is for sure..  I'm in the UK, I believe the whole of our Nation calls the binmen, binmen..lol as we use bins to put our rubbish in.. But annd, this game is very difficult that is for sure, there are so many words that we never use here in the UK  (and vice versa) that are every day words in the US, I mean take the word CACA for one, now what on earth???? And that word is acceptable..lol.. I use that word now .... but only in this game I hasten to add...lol..

annd
annd

@Cottonswan @annd @rednaxelaennyl   When I lived in England many years ago we used to take our shoes to the shoeman  for repair - who was the local cobbler.  If binmen is in the Word Battle dictionary (whichever one it is) then shoeman should be.
