Play the classic trick-taking card game. Lead with your strongest suit and work with your partner to get 2 points per hand. Whist is a classic English trick-taking card game which was played widely in the 18th and 19th centuries. Whist derives from the 16th century game of Trump or Ruff, via Ruff and Honors. Although rules of Whist are extremely simple, there is enormous scope for scientific play.
Whist rules:
A standard 52 card pack is used. The Whist cards in each suit rank from highest to lowest: A K Q J 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2. Whist is played by four players, who play in two partnerships with the partners sitting opposite each other. Whist players cut or draw cards to determine partners with the two highest playing against the lowest two, who have seating rights. The players then cut for deal. It is strictly against the rules of Whist to comment on the cards in any way. One may not comment upon the hand one was dealt nor about one's good fortune or bad fortune. One may not signal to one's partner. whist, whist game, whist online, whist card, free whist.

Thank you AOL - at long last after many months of waiting - it is now possible for friends to meet up and enjoy the company they used to have - enjoying a game of Whist with friends. Nice to see lots more different people too. Much nicer people than in some of the sites I have visited - especially Spades - Black Cat is the word - it has rubbed off on some "Catty" - supposed to be a social game - hmmmm some don't know the meaning of the word. Seasons Greetings to all.

A good game for practice; I rather play Bid Whist and call my own trump!
