Chess is a recreational and competitive game played between two players. Chess is played on a square checkered chess board with 64 squares arranged in an eight-by-eight square. Each chess player controls 16 chess pieces. The chess game pieces are: one king, one queen, two rooks, two knights, two bishops, and eight pawns. The object of the game of chess is to checkmate the other chess players king.
