Help Dick Hollywood, the letter detective, to find the names of the people that he is missing.
Goal of the gameHelp Dick Hollywood, the letter detective, to find names. The game is played on a playfield filled with squares, each containing a letter. Your job is to find the names of celebrities in the playfield. These names are hidden in the mess of letters (in increasingly difficult patterns). When a name has been found, the letters of that name are removed from the playfield and the gaps are filled with new letters. After each name, you collect your finding fee (depending on how fast you've found the name) and you're ready for the next name.
Time & HintsYou have to find each name within a certain amount of time. If the timer runs out before you find the name, the game is over.
Dick Hollywood can help you out if you get stuck. Simply click on him and he will show you the position of the first letter of the name you are trying to find. But be careful! He can only help you a limited number of times. You start the game with 3 hints and you get an extra hint for every $10.000 you earn.
Bonus RoundsAfter each normal level you can play a little bonus round to help you to train your letter detective skills. These bonus rounds are time based, but the game isn't over if time runs out before you complete the bonus round. Simply have fun and try to earn as much money as possible.
ControlsLetters can be selected with the mouse. Simply click on a deselected letter to select it or on a selected letter to deselect it. If you hold down the mouse button and drag the pointer over the letters, you can select or deselect multiple letters in one mouse action. Right clicking anywhere in the field deselects all selected letters.
During the game you can use the following keys:
ScoreYou earn money each time you find a name. The amount of money you earn depends upon how fast you find the name.
When you find a name, Dick Hollywood will comment on how fast you found that name. If he thinks you are doing a good job he will say: "Great! That was fast". When you find two names fast in a row you'll earn a chain bonus and Dick will double the amount you've earned for the last word. Try to form larger chains of fast words to multiply your score even further!
